“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” ~ Revelation 1:3 (ESV)
The whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is a story of God’s love. The book of Revelation talks about Jesus, the victorious King, coming back to bring an end to all things. This is the completing message of the Gospel. Jesus will judge all people. Those who follow Him will be with Him forever. Evil will finally, and completely, be destroyed. Heaven will descend to earth, and God’s home will be among His people for all eternity!
Series Aim: This lesson series on Revelation was created through deep study and consultation with several pastors and church leaders. When creating this series, our hope was that people would gain confidence to read the book of Revelation and not feel intimidated. We want people to be excited by the future hope, stirred to action by it’s consequences, sobered by the end of many people and challenged to live in the light of what is to come. Our desire is that followers of Jesus will have a new focus and excitement to share the Gospel!
Teaching Children: It is rare for people to teach the book of Revelation to children, but this experience was exceptional. The children, ages 7-11, absolutely loved this series and (years later) still remember what they were taught.
